Blackberry Lemon Gin and Tonic

This gluten free cocktail is beautiful and so refreshing. Blackberries and lemon create the most delicious base for this Gin and Tonic recipe. Tart, but sweet, a hint of mint and the perfect amount of fizz and gin, this cocktail is going to be your go to drink for the warmer months. So easy, yet so impressive. Easily make 1 drink or enough to serve a crowd. Hope you enjoy!

I know there is a lot of controversy on distilled liquors and them being gluten free. Some feel comfortable consuming liquors that are made with wheat, rye, or barley after they have been distilled, some people do not. The distillation process removes proteins, which is what gluten is, and is said to be safe for people with celiac disease and non-celiac gluten sensitivity. My personal opinion is DO WHAT MAKES YOU FEEL SAFE! I look for liquors that are made with with corn or potatoes and state that they are gluten-free. That's what makes me feel safe. When it comes to Gin or any other alcohol, do your research. We have several brands that we use and trust. For Gin our go to is something distilled from corn based spirits such as Empress 1908.

Serves 1 Prep Time 5 mins Cook Time 10 mins Total Time 15 mins


  • 2 ounces gin

  • 1 ounce simple syrup

  • 1 fresh squeezed lemon

  • 6 blackberries

  • 5 fresh mint leaves

  • tonic water (you can sub for seltzer water)

  • ice


  1. In a cocktail glass place blackberries and mint into a glass and muddle together.

  2. Pour gin, simple syrup and lemon juice into a shaker, fill with ice and shake for 1 minute.

  3. Fill glass with ice and pour gin mixture over ice. Top off with tonic water and mix together.

  4. Garnish with blackberries and mint.

  5. ENJOY!!!
