Gluten Free Ginger BBQ Meatballs

Ready to kick your meatballs up a notch with these gluten free ginger BBQ meatballs? I can honestly say these are the best meatballs I've ever had and I know my family agrees, too. These make the perfect appetizer on their own, or paired with rice for a delicious meal. They are so easy to make and the flavors are insanely delicious! Seasoned with the best flavors of ginger, garlic and onion, pan fried to perfection and topped with your favorite BBQ sauce turned into the most flavorful glaze. You will be happy you made these! Ingredients


Meatballs

  • 1 pound ground pork or chicken

  • 1 tablespoon minced ginger

  • 1 tablespoon minced garlic

  • 1 teaspoon onion powder

  • salt and pepper to taste

  • 1/4 cup high heat oil (for frying pan)

BBQ Sauce

  • 1 bottle of your favorite gluten free sweet BBQ sauce

  • 1/4 cup brown sugar

  • 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar

  • dash of salt


Instructions

  1. In an medium bowl mix together ground meat, ginger, garlic, onion, salt and pepper.

  2. Roll into 1 inch balls and place on a lined baking sheet, repeat until done.

  3. Heat oil in a frying pan and fry meatballs on medium heat until cooked all the way through.

  4. Once meatballs are cooked place them on a cooling rack sitting on a baking sheet, or a baking sheet lined with paper towels to let off excess oil.

  5. Prepare the BBQ ginger glaze by heating the bottle of BBQ sauce in a medium saucepan on medium heat, adding the brown sugar, vinegar and salt. Stir constantly, bringing to a boil. Mix until sauce is thickened.

  6. Remove saucepan from heat and add meatballs to sauce pan and coat with BBQ ginger glaze. Do this in small amounts making sure not to overcrowd the saucepan.

  7. Place on a serving dish and serve as an appetizer or as a meal with rice.
